Back at the beginning of September at the UCI Downhill World Championships in Champery, Switzerland, it was fantastic to see Firecrest MTB skills trained riders and DeVo alumni racing for Team GB.
With Luca Thurlow called up last minute to race, he finished in 37th place in the Elite Men’s race, and DeVo alumni George Madley came home in 6th place in a stacked, super-fast Junior field. It’s been great watching both of them develop as racers and competing at the highest level on the world stage, representing Team GB.
George backed up his Worlds result coming home in 7th overall in the Junior World Cup Series and qualifying for the finals at all 10 rounds of the 2025 series. Look out for George as he moves up to the Elite ranks for 2026.
It was also great to see DeVo Skills Trained Rider George Wilkes wrap-up the overall victory in the Propain Rookies Cup. George has had an amazing season of adventures and racing over in Europe. By taking his second win of the series at the penultimate round, he wrapped up the series overall. Keep an eye on George as he has an exciting future ahead.
