While his Madison Saracen Team mates were away racing at the Pearce Series in Shropshire Jack Geoghegan took advantage of some time of to put in some skills training with Firecrest Mountain Biking on Aston Hill.
Jack’s trained with Firecrest MTB’s Ian Warby since he first started racing back in the days of Aston Hill Junior DeVo. The training session was a great chance for the pair to catch up trailside and for Jack to catch up on the latest developments in the Firecrest MTB Skills Training System.
Moving up to Elite for 2011 and joining the Madison Saracen Team after sealing the British Downhill Series Expert Category in 2010 means that Jack will need to be on form to achieve his ambitious targets for the 2011 race season.
Utilising the twists and turns of Aston Hill’s 4-2-3 Downhill the pair worked on Jack’s cornering with a focus on carrying more speed through the tighter turns. Of course many would argue that Jack is no slouch through the turns fresh from the Elite/Expert category win at the previous weekends Aston Hill Black Run Race. There’s always more to learn and by the end of the session Jack’s corner speed had noticeably increased and more importantly he’d identified some aspects to work on in preparation for the rest of the race season.
