2011 has been a frustrating season for FMTB Trained Athlete Sam Wakefield. Coming in off some fantastic results at the end of 2010 after coming back from breaking his back he had high hopes for making the team for the Worlds in his final year as a Junior.

Sam hasn’t had the season he was hoping for but the result at this weekend at the Pearce Cycles Downhill in Bala really underlined his potential. Sam took the win in his category by 7seconds with a time that would have put him comfortably amongst the top 10 Elite riders on the day! Look out for a run of strong results from Sam as the season draws to a close.
